Bartender’s Lament

© 3/14/01 Dennis L. Pickering Sweet champagne smiles within your brain Like magick on the window pane But vodka is a bit more coarse Upon that attitude of yours He smiles and smiles to get your dough From you your paycheck here below You sit and sit upon his stool And give him everything you own. He farms and farms his customers To get them drunk and spending big He’s not a ghost within your mind Though you might think that time-to-time. He comes to you like a gazelle To encourage you to spend more To occupy his dim lit lair And withhold you from going home.CENTER Written March 14th, 2001 © on Sep 01 2001 02:04 PM PST, Dennis Pickering   0 • 12
