long goodbye

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

last night in my long time home staring at snow tv has deserted me listen to old songs drink cheap beer perforated with my lucky lager church key pretending ten years never happened daydreaming about being young and stupid and fucking free wishing for cops to come bust up my one man party make me feel like a rebel again it beats the truth starting over ten years too late heading off into some kind of dream praying to bacchus and jehovah simultaneously it seems experience is more than the sum of its parts because this time it's just not the same kabuki girl and catalina failing utterly to make me feel alive listen to hope and think of you my only hope is down a long road and I pray again give me my dream or let me diethis poem will make more sense to those of you who know the Descendents' "Milo goes to college" album...but hopefully it makes some sense without that.
