Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

you were a paragon a perfect rebel causes need not apply beautifully careless unconcerned, wild and free you made us feel alive there in the old foundry sleeping on the quarterpipe up all night telling stupid jokes outrageous angry statements preaching to the converted weeks passing in a haze crystal glittering in our eyes hot, flushed, and tired desperately aware of life perhaps every clown conceals a broken child we'll never know...you didn't say goodbye when we found you there, inert grey metal in your inert grey hand your laughing face smearing the walls life in a puddle, spreading like wings from your sloped shoulders every one of us died, changed forever damned souls, our last unknown vestige of innocence faded, gone...we feel so old without youmiss you, Lucky. --second revision for publication Written February 6th, 2002 © on Mar 09 2002 11:55 AM PST   18 • 0 • 1
