An angel in disguise

By DocMccurdy

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I had taken this turn in life,             And living was just a spare,             And then I met this angel, who             Once more sparked my flare.                   I could feel my body tremble,                   An emotion that was rare,                   I started to lose all my senses,                   This had to be love, I swear.             I had been feeling so depressed,             And she had shown such care,             To return happiness to my life,             She had done her share.                   To be able to love once more,                   I never thought I'd dare,                   Then, when I looked her in her eyes,                   She softly returned my stare.              But my life had only just begun,             When she vanished in thin air,             She who'd given me  will to live,             But, now  had left me bare.                   It had all happened so quickly,                   That I got such a scare,                   So easily I'd given in to emotions,                   I'd succumbed to her snare.             Oh Lord, tell me what to do,             And how to recover this fare,             For I am on the door to heaven,             But can't find my way in there.
