Hopes die last
By DocMccurdy
When the wind blows hard, and memories fade, When Castles in the sand, that love hath made gets washed away by time and tide, Then left with us only, our sense of pride. We see off , with every breath ,the day, In times of difficulty, we learn to pray, But visions subside as lives transform, Those sunny moments to days of storm. The dreams that built on love to share, On slender so bond, as thin as air, Such love is what that alone remains, When the fever subsides and the sorrow pains. To live in hope now what matters most, Trusting in faith, as a last resort. When we realize, gone has time so fast, For dreams are first to die, but hopes die last. In tears has one entered this world, A crying child, so tiny and curled, But teardrops are all it learns to shed, Awake and alone. The long nights, in bed. Memories and hope are ones only friends, No matter how the life line bends. When memories fade and the last die is cast, Then look up and smile, for hopes die last.
