The end of the road
By DocMccurdy
Those sleepless nights, tossing and turning, Thinking of her, twisting and burning, Her pretty face now clouding my eyes, My love for her, crossing and yearning. The happy moments, pondering and lashing, Her ravenous eyes, twinkling and flashing, the loving smile covering her face, now remaining a dream, bruising and crashing. Arm in arm, swinging and dancing, Breathing the air, shaking and prancing, Along the field full of flowers and weeds, The beauty around, moving and trancing. The older we got, basking and daring, life's sweet moments, loving and sharing, Her presence in life, always by my side, and those empty days, her nursing and caring. One fine day, she, ailing and sinking, Heavily breathing, frailing and shrinking, Now finally at sight, the end of the road, Where to my destiny, fearing and thinking. Sounds of emptiness, scaring and swishing, A need for affection, searching and fishing, a final desire at the end of my life, A place by her side, hoping and wishing.
