Autumn
By doughunt
Mystical, shifting changes in evening's hue, with season, stirs the longing, not fully glimpsed but powers the soul like some electric charge that bears resemblance to that mellow dusk that bathes the earth, softly, caressing... And whisked away, not to gentler, happier climes but that place, always here inviting me to stay just awhile longer, just a moment...longer The muse's wistful melody entices me to linger and sample such fare to ease my rabid appetite. Indulging whim or something more substantial? At every turn I face myself as if in some forgotten carny's maze, dark and ill defining to slip into the morose and crying for release, the moonlit darkness compelling me go forward. And ever to return to Summer's hopeful vision when all is bright, assured and tight within my grasp the ocean's crashing waves sounding the crescendo now distant as the undulating tide gently carries this pyre and it's passenger on the charted course.
