He Asked Me
By Dragonlady
He asked me to marry him, What else could I say? My whole life I’ve dreamed, Of my wedding day. I would be wearing a beautiful grown. I walk barefoot to him, through the grass. And in front of our friends, and our families, We’d vow of a love that surely would last. I would hold his hands, look into his eyes, Tell him of the depths of my heart. We’d promise to be honest, faithful and true, And to do this, 'til death do we part. He said, “ marry me” I answered soft and slow. “I do not mean to hurt you love, But for now, my answer is no.”True story. Written April 9th, 2002 © on Apr 09 2002 05:16 AM PST 18 • 0 • 10
