I curse the darkness That swallows the light Alone to face the silence Knowing nothings right A prisoner of my own mind Trapped behind words I can't say Afraid you might not understand Why I am this way I beg for you to comfort me While you leave me here to die I lay in the darkness As I silently cry I can't change what is With all these tears Knowing it won't matter When they'll too dissappear The night spreads it's darkened wings Swallowing the evening sky Magic as a moonlit night Beneath the stars I die The stars that fill the heavens Woven into my dreams Waking to nothing So sad it all must seem So I stare into the darkness Were lonliness is seen Wishing I've awoken Awoken in some dream I once felt the warmth of love Pass through my brocken soul And as I stood in silence I knew I'd have to watch it go So here I am With nothing whole inside I knew something was there Before it died The Lonely PoetWritten Feb 1st 2001, please share!!!!
