The Golden Sunset

By Dreamsofdesire

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I stand here, silence all Around me, in an empty house Looking out the window Wishing you were here In the view of my window I see many things. Ducks migrating to the south Gracefully gliding with their wings Clouds drifting by slowly, Without a need nor Any care in the world. Watching down on us Softly golden, they are Touched with the radiance Of the golden sunset… Never have I seen such a perfect sight The golden rays touch The emerald leaves of the trees. Stirred by the breeze, it seems They sigh with such pleasure. The golden sunset goes from golden to red; a mixture of colours all over the horizon is spread I sigh at it's perfection. Standing here, watching this sunset I sit and sigh, wishing With all my heart, that You should have been here with me. Written January 6th, 2002 © on Jan 06 2002 05:48 AM PST   18 • 0 • 10
