Fractured Love

By drhook

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

How many times have I looked at you And wondered were you strayed Wondered to what memories you wandered Or what secret hopes filled your heart To find another life where only gentle Chimes echoed across the morning light And church bells rang triumphantly I know I bring a fractured Love A heart pieced together at great cost Eyes scarred from too much seeing And ears dimmed with a plethora of sounds I bring you a face marked by time's Relentless sculpting A memory circumscribed by joy A mind cluttered with unfinished plans And half-completed hopes But most of all, the Love and courage I possesThis is my best ever, and my very first poem.
