End of an Era
By dyejunkie
Shadowy lights descend upon my room The yellowing sun deepens the dimensions of the objects For a moment, everything seems clear, concise, meaningful The curtains close and clarity fades My minds illusions become reality The light fades as I trap out the outside world Leaving myself alone...alone I think of all the times we had The laughs, the loves, the strife’s It all came to an end like the slip of a knife Now the heartache begins, and the healing process must take place There are things which help, assist in my aid Distractions from life, myself, and the outside world They all take some time, cheating the system How long before I get caught? Clouds fall out of the sky Angels scream in pain People walk round backwards... ...it was just a dream...I'm not too sure about this poem. I wrote this back in July, but I'm not too sure if I'm totally happy with it. Let me know. Thanks guys. Written July 12th, 2001 © on Dec 07 2001 04:40 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
