For Daniel (Pt. 2)

God made you as an angel that could only last so long I hope you enjoy heaven or your Kingly incarnation It's hard to take it all in So everyone reacts by spitting it all out There are people in this world That see beautiful things And look to make them ugly They like to nail head upon thier walls That's why when they saw your colourful wings They just couldn't let you alone to be happy And so they killed the butterfly in their view The only think to thank God for is they couldn't get you as a catipillar They took pride in carrying it out Clipping your wings before ripping them off They whispered to each other and thought of ways to be Better and crueler hunters The only positive side that I can find Is that the world can't hurt you anymore And the world can never make you cry Now the world can never rip apart your wings You were such a beautiful bird in an ugly cage Now you can't even be beautiful Becuase they wouldn't even let you be at all They're freedom fighters since they fought against your freedom This sunday no flowers will bloom And those living with wilt away and die Without a seed there can't be a stem And without a stem you can't blossom like a Sunday Flower I promised you I'd help you out So many people who wanted to save you But maybe you found your own way out And maybe it's better where you now reside It's been a while since you've had freedom And you'll never see your child or your wife again But now your spirit is free and now you can fly Spread your wings and see where they take youToday I wrote a poem I wish I didn't ever get to write...
