The Elf-King

By Einstein on Crack

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

(A Companion poem to AnnD’s “The Green-Eyed Goddess”, “The Elf’s Revenge”) “Come hither – Enter in my realm” Said the Elf-King regally “I’ll teach you of my pleasure” “And show you misery” He taunted all his women In this cryptic way If they pressed him further Nothing more he’d say You see the good ol’ Elf-King Loved to play his game Trapping naïve ladies Was his only aim Turn them into puppets For his pleasure alone Something that most people Surely must condone You’ve read of one such victim The Green Eyed Goddess’ Tale Although she did not play the game The royal plan can’t fail If you chase this monarch He will always win Creating rules for innocents Descending them to sin Choosing not to join with him Will always save your skin If you choose this ruler You’re bound to lose your soul Stripped bare of your morals To start with that’s his goal Then he’ll take you deeper Manipulate your mind Treat you like a doormat Never treat you kind You will become his plaything For ridicule and pain Only for one reason His pleasure … He will gain Choosing not to play with him He will set you free Without the inclination A doormat you can’t be Off to pick another That’s just what he will do Until he finds that person Who wants to wear that shoe Someone who is innocent For him to pleasure and pain That is what it’s all about His highness’ favourite game If you meet the Elf-King Take heed of this tale Or read 'The Green Eyed Goddess'* Who is now looking pale A royal-blooded predator Who’ll take you if you wish But if you want your innocence Refuse this masters’ kiss . . . © Andy Harding * 'The Green Eyed Goddess' by AnnDThe picture is (c) Brian Froud ...
