Forbidden Fruit
By Emmerson
~*~ It is with muted lips you whisper, The hidden secrets of your truths. A forbidden fruit amongst the orchard, From seeds planted in your youth. Vibrant greens create vitality, From leaves you begin to drink. This tree of wisdom firm but frail, Supports you while you think. Drunk on sap, that touches desire, And burns deep into your skin. Knowledge of want and longing for touch, Becomes your greatest sin. Saplings shoot vines that pull, And wrap themselves around your legs. Forbidden fruit falls to the ground, As you remember promises kept. Saliva drips from the tip of your tongue, As you yearn for just one taste. This forbidden fruit full of juice, Is not one you should waste. Whispers blow across the wind, To delve into your mind. What is it that scares you most, Your truth or what you think you’ll find? * Written April 8th, 2002 © on Apr 08 2002 01:11 AM PST 18 • 0 • 10
