SUICIDE
By erinmichelle
The river seems so far away As she's standing in the rain On the edge of a railing Trying to escape her pain Her heart is tortured daily From a past she cannot lose She's trying to hide away From a life she did not choose Darkness has engulfed her And kept her from the light She strives to meet this beast That no longer she can fight She's no longer afraid Of what is on the other side She wants to let go, To again have her pride So she releases her grip And she exhales when she falls Because broken are her chains And crumbled are her walls She's there now, alone In this new and different place And she rediscovers something lost A smile upon her face Written May 29th, 2001 © on May 29 2001 05:39 AM PST 0 • 1
