Fruit Tree
By evangelina
There was a strong voice singing about a tree of strange fruit. I didn't know what it meant the first time she sang to me. I was too blind to see. A sad and haunting tale of bodies swaying under poplars, finally bringing chills down my spine. It's hard to believe we could such a thing- such a cold hearted shame. the strangest fruit is the memory of faceless blame.inspired by Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit" Written March 30th, 2002 © on Mar 29 2002 03:23 PM PST 0 • 9
