Agony

By Fading Soldier

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

buried beneath the vast chasm of life a speck of sand along a stretch of white sandy shore a bleak flickering light among the stars of the heavens an unheard destination at the farthest end of the universe a broken note on a beautiful sonata a patch of gray on a green landscape. the secret of the man, no one will ever know the dagger that pierced his heart removed the wound healed, but the scar remains. over time, the pain subsided but the dark images of yesterday keep on re-appearing by a thief on the dark, his honor and dignity stolen drained every ounce of his strength to go on living. always bottled his emotions to face life reality tried to forgive and forget not to dwell on the memories of the past tried to be vigilant to hold on to the remaining hope the tribulations of life, tried to cope. over time, the man tried to overcome yes...did he tried... he laughed on the outside 'though sadness tore him inside when will it last? no one will ever foresee just him can decide...his secret, the agony into his grave he will carry. tried to hide his sorrows with songs with his writings might release the anger and might soothe his broken soul with smiles, he tried to block those sighs but those whispers still penetrate...tearing his heart. will there be peace of his well being someday? only the man can decide and say will the heartaches, pain, sorrow, suffering, and agony disappear? like a thick black cloud vanished into thin air? death before dishonor, is it the ultimate answer? ;o) ~~***~~ Written October 18th, 2001 © on Oct 18 2001 04:05 AM PST   0 • 1
