'Satin And Savagery'

By FifthRing

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Trapped in the shadows, we must remain. Controlled by the powers, of Love and Pain. The truth we hide, is eventually exposed. And still we try, to remain composed. The trust that falls, when before your eyes. You see what is hidden, behind the sex and the lies. A fragile heart, shattered by rage. And the inability, to turn the page. A person changed, by their disgust with fate. A thirst for revenge, from the eyes of hate. The given illusion, of love and trust. Fallen victim, to lies and lust.. . An alternate title for this could have been "Adultery And Divorce", in case you didn't quite grasp what the poem was about. . . Written September 21st, 1992 © on Mar 04 2002 07:07 AM PST   0 • 1
