The Noble Beast

By Frank j

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

THE NOBLE BEASTA most noble beast is the one called Horse. It has served Man for many years. So strong and proud, with head held high,Such beauty has oft brought a man to tears. He could be a Clydesdale, bold and tall,A sleek Arabian, or a cowpony, quick and smart,Or a little Shetland, only ten hands high.It matters not, for he will win your heart. What man can teach, the horse can learn. An intelligent creature is that quadruped. And many a cowboy has told this tale:Were it not for his horse, he would now be dead.My horse will have his place in Heaven; If not, I’ll know the reason why,And I’m sure that mine will wait for meAt that last big roundup... in the sky.
