A Mountain Too High

By Fred

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

My Lord, this mountain is a bit too highIt seems to get harder the more I climbI've fallen many times, please tell me whyI always seem to lose my peace of mind. Then just when I think I have reached the topAnd conquered this rocky mountain of mineIt seems to grow higher and never stopOh my God this mountain is way too high!Crack, crack. I now feel the mountain divideWhat in the world is going on right now?I look around but find no place to hideBut I must keep on climbing anyhow.'My Child, take my hand!' I hear from the skyNow I reach up toward that loving call'This mountain,' God says 'will not make you die'In His hands I now know I cannot fall.As I look back the mountain has crumbledIt's now nothing but a pile of ash'When you called me,' says God 'you were humbleSo I knocked out the mountain with a crash.'See for you, the mountain may seem to highBut it is definitely not for meThe situations that make  you wonder why,I view as far from an extremity.''I created the mountain as a test,To see just how faithful you could beAnd when you have done your very bestI'll provide all of the help that you need. Can you feel this piece of work?
