Thy Work Be Done

By Freeway

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Dear God, I present to you the issue of terrorism, in America and around the world. Through Your work, Your hands, and Your love, change and miracles transform. I urgently request that You be with each and every one of us, throughout the entire world, bringing us a touch of sanity, clarity, protection, love, and peace. Though it is difficult for me to pray for Osama Bin Laden and other terrorists (his followers), I pray that somehow a change of heart will occur in this man. You, Dear Lord, are the Almighty. You are the only One who can transform war into peace, grace to sinners, and love to each and every one of us. It is my prayer that you will wrap your arms around us, protect us, and be with us as we work to preserve the safety of Americans. As America protects its skies from enemies, remind me to thank you for the angels you give each and every one of us to fly overhead at every given hour. America has had many blessings, and I thank you, God. Because any gift of and on America comes from You. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for protecting us. Thank you for doing what You can to help us through these dark days. A glimmer of fresh light shines. You, God, are that light. Thank you, for without Your light we wouldn't be here to enable our world to overcome evil. May Your light shine brighter and touch more people's lives with miracles than in history, including the lives of Osama Bin Laden and his followers. Thy Work be done. Thy will be done. Thanks be to YOU, God. Thanks be to You. Amen. Written November 15th, 2001 © on Nov 15 2001 03:34 AM PST   18 • 0 • 13
