The Order of Chaos

By G man767

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Once I was told, "As the cards are dealt The hand is known... I am the Order of my Fate." Perhaps things have and have not already happened; As in some hologram, Appearances are and are not their Opposite; We know before we know. Perhaps...but how to know for sure? If all possible numbers, permutations and outcomes were knowably known-- having already happened (somehow, somewhere...)-- Then nothing would be random... All chance would be mere appearance belonging to a broader order... Assuming, of course, that the future were more than potentially infinite. If the future had already happened it could then be known, by simple remembrance. Curious Me, armed with mere partial knowledge, ask: 'Is the totality of All knowable...in the End? (By then, will I have forgotten whatever seemed certain?) For if Chaos is merely the Unknown Order of Things-- consisting of all possible orders-- then there are no accidents, and nothing is purely random... it only appears so, given our limited field of view. --Uncle Greg Written October 21st, 2001 © on Oct 21 2001 01:07 PM PST    0 • 9
