Recruitment agencies

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Would it be possible to sign up with you? The other agencies haven't a clue I'm sixteen, I left school in May I'm working now, but recieving low pay So I'll call again when I'm seventeen and a half Oh excuse me, I don't mean to laugh But seventeen and a half, what difference would that make? I'm very mature and always awake Surely, performance matters more? So because I'm sixteen, I'm not mature? You'll keep my details in your folder Well in that case, maybe I'll call back when I'm a year and a half olderI wrote this poem because I phoned up a recruitment agency but couldn't sign up because I wasn't seventeen and a half.
