If Only The World Were Color Blind

By GhettoRaisedPoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Ignorance and Hate Why do some human beings covet these things so? They are passed down from one generation to the next. And the Chain Of Close-Mindedness They will never seem to let it go. Do you think our children are born to hate Something that is so different from them But in so many ways just the same? No I think it is the parents that instill in that child's mind That mixing of different colors is a deadly sin And anything different from them Should be made to return back To the place from which it first orginated and came. If we are pricked or cut Do we not bleed just the same and the color exactley alike? But it is the thought of having to accept this truth That give most humans a terrible fright. If only the world were color blind. People could finally open their eyes up and see. That the world would be a more joyous place to live in. If we embraced all colors and creeds And became the family that God invisioned intended for us to be. Written June 28th, 2001 © on Jun 28 2001 12:14 AM PST   0 • 10
