Flames Dancing

By Gomer

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

As I sit here thinking of you lost in memories lost in the depths of your eyes spiraling ever downward looking for the eternal flame of your soul in the distance I sense a spark my heart quickens, my skin flushes, my passion stirs, my heart aches. I feel so close yet so far but my soul-flame sees it's other half, rushes madly through the darkness, closer, closer, closer still. and late at night, when none but dreams stir, one pair of dreams slowly take shape in the endless void of thought slowly, carefully, tenderly, lovingly begins a dance a dance as old as time a dance that started when the first life thought of other than itself. slowly at first, two embers of flame moving faster, brighter, till with a crescendo of music they join, combine, their forces are as one one eternal flame a beacon in the darkness for all whose dreams travel there. and late at night when none but dreams stir two kindred spirits though separated by distance smile in their sleep.
