A plea
By Grannyrosie
Ignorant, pleading innocence, I come, yet not to beg I ask allow sanity To permeate your head. No offence ever intended, No conspiring to cut you down, Situation now intolerable Forsaking smiles for sorrowful frown. Relationships so valued, dear Should not be threatened by trivialities, Stop, inspect truths as presented, Response created insurmountable miseries. We never realise what it is we have Until it is gone, no-longer waiting there, Reach inside your mind, re-call her love, Please let her know how much you care. Never in a thousand years Would the lizard or she who is me Set about in thoughtless destructiveness, Creating this chaos I see. So unwell now for so long Plus sitting in self pity’s pit Have been unable to let ink flow Or read others, or comment Save for a little bit. No slur was ever my intent Neither from my dearest son, Your reaction I cannot comprehend, Bringing so much good, undone. The only thing now betrayed, Is your stony, unforgiving heart, Please take another look at this situation, Reassure her, you will never part. This is a special poem, and the one for whom it is written, will recognise what it is about. I am so saddened by the events that led to this writing. Written February 15th, 2002 © on Feb 14 2002 07:03 PM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 1
