Arachnid
By Grannyrosie
ARACHNID Threads of dew kissed silk, Delicately embracing fronds of fern, Branch of tree ,repeating ,to and fro, Concentric circles ,spiders dome. Behold, She with eyes demonic, Swaying softly with the breeze, Massive body, long elegant legs, The victims body help to weave. Fragile cage of steel gossamer, Enmeshing insect passerby, Golden bands on legs reflecting, Sun's ray bending, and desire. Kisses of death's passion bestowing, Repeatedly to struggling prey, Then, alas, the battle over, Gently vibrating from foray. Drag hapless victim to larder, Quietly repair damaged steel Once again sit in silence, Awaiting yet another meal. Written December 15th, 2001 © on Dec 14 2001 09:39 PM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 10
