Basic needs

BASIC NEEDS How broken is a heart, Before it bursts, and bleeds? How does one explain, The depth of basic needs? The need to have a mind to share, At the level of ones own. The need to laugh, to banter, Not to feel so lost, alone. Just to sit beside a dear heart, Before a huge log fire. Share coffee, or a good fine port, Fulfil an aching hearts desire. Out driving on a balmy day, Admiring beauty all around, Sharing with a like mind, Should such a one be found. Hand in hand, strolling down the street, Stopping, chatting, with those we meet. Pause, window shop a while, Reflections meet, tender smile. Sharing, and comparing notes, Similar things we like to do, Recalling memories from the past, Just saying, “I love you”. These things some take for granted, Others have never found, Maybe, some time, in another life, This someone, will call around Written December 22nd, 2001 © on Dec 22 2001 08:46 AM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 1
