Divorce
By Grannyrosie
DIVORCE Dissolution centre, disillusioned waiting on, Divorce dished out by direction and decree. Lonely, bitter faces staring, vacant spots upon the wall, Not a smile showing anywhere, no joy in this at all. Moments of anxiety obvious. Public address system blaring high. More victims, victors marking time, Restless moments ticking by. Secret envelopes, legal papers, Clutched, as if clutching at the straws, Of the lives once lived together, Now scratched and marred with flaws. A couple leave the courtroom, One in tears, on full of smiles. Next person through the doorway please. The line stretches out for miles. Hearing muted voices gossip, Whose fault was it? You see, He found a pretty younger woman, Twenty years younger than me. She played up. He beat her. They just could not get along. The stories ran in rhythm, Almost as a heartbreak song. In this disposable society, Intimate knowledge lets me see, Marriage, just another commodity, In the market of the free.
