FLAME OF MATURITY Holding love, between cupped palms, Observing flickering fire, Gently protecting eternal flame, Coals of youth’s burning desire. Scars revealed, deep opalescent forms, Burns from the distant past, Necessary for knowledge, wisdom, hope, Recognition of mature love, to last. Fingers cupped, tenderly, gracefully, Protecting this love, as a child, Nourished, nurtured, deep from within, No longer need for passions wild. Growing each day, a new dimension. Pulsating with life in these hands, Peace, serenity, commitment’s pledge, Dedicated, no unrealistic demands.
