From the jetty
By Grannyrosie
FROM THE JETTY Jetty reaching out, into the river, Early morning frost. Rugged up so tight, still ashiver, Gazing into the stream, lost. Little leaf floating by, Where is it you roam? Like me, erratic in your journey, Looking for a home. Pelican, still so drowsy, Sentinel on a post. What is it you await there? What will fulfil your dreams the most? Shimmering, swirling river, Where do you run so fast? Anxious to meet the ultimate destiny, Meet with loving sea at last. Little mother, with your ducklings, Emerging from the rushes there. Hoping they all survive it. Reflect, and send a prayer. Behold! The world seems so much brighter. What a glorious day. Sometimes forgetfulness obscures, The simple need to pray Written December 22nd, 2001 © on Dec 21 2001 06:05 PM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 13
