I believe

I believe Hearts reach out across our world Linking minds in a circle of prayer, Committing friends and strangers’ lives To our Lords sweet mercy and care. The thoughts reflect the miracles of faith As each participant pleads their case The bowed heads of humility Beseeching the Lord to give his grace. Oh Lord we know that when two or three Are gathered in common prayer The strength of our committed souls Will reach our saviour everywhere. Oh grant us strength to overcome The non-believers, those who shun Your words, that they when face with adversity Plead for the prayer of you and me. It is easy for some to take God’s words At random, in contempt And throw them at His lambs in spite Without feeling of what is meant. But never forget the power of He Who created a world of diversity He alone sits in judgment on high Watching the saints and sinners go by. He alone in majesty created The Earth, the sky, the sea, His is the only plan we see That allowed for every contingency. And He is the one to whom all men call When they are weak, stumble and fall.
