I beseech thee, knight
By Grannyrosie
I BESEECH THEE, KNIGHT This love, that comes, within the dark, Tempting, luring, so bold, 'tis true, Alas! A poisoned cup of bitter brew, Now burns, deep down within. This blinding, blazing fire, unquenched, Before one more night has passed, Satiated, it must be, Else I shall turn my back on thee. Oh Knight! Sweet promise thou dost make. Alas! I see mine great mistake, Entangled in this web, so tight, By filaments, of love's delight. I fear this breast, heavy with desire, Cannot forever, nourish this fire, Coals from whence, gut and heart engulf, Threatening to consume my all. Stand here before me, eye to eye, See here this truth, this naked I, 'Tis not the total epitome, Of woman, that embraces thee? Enter thee now, within this feast, Off pure and complete womanness, Ere that, or rid me of this curse, Prolong not, this agony of desire. My mind strays from all around that be, In bondage yet, this heart to thee, Release me, else I die with shame, Calling upon loves dear sweet name. Forsaken! Ah! naught could be worse, Except perhaps, to live this curse, Another day, my light be gone, Finished, departed, no more love song Written December 17th, 2001 © on Dec 16 2001 09:40 PM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 8
