I love the night
By Grannyrosie
I LOVE THE NIGHT Lying here beside you, Watching as you sleep, Chest rising and falling, Far away, in slumber deep. Taking in the contours, Every feature of that face, Lines around your tired eyes, Humour lives in that dear place. Trace my finger gently, Across you furrowed brow. Wanting to ease your burdens. Don’t quite know how. Fingers wander softly, Down the bridge of your nose. Oops!,You shrug, annoyed, Not light enough I s’pose. Content to lie, rejoicing, Such closeness now with you. Tender plans we are voicing, Will see all worries through. Knowing we ride this storm together, Sure everything will be alright. At the end of this tunnel Darling, We will emerge into the light. These four walls are our haven, I snuggle in so tight, Feel your body so relaxed, How I love the night. Written December 20th, 2001 © on Dec 20 2001 12:34 AM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 8
