Mine heart cries
By Grannyrosie
Dost knoweth, E’en tho, so far away, Mine heart cries out, With each new breath of day? Beloved, whence shall thee yet return, I bid thee? How my aching heart dost yearn, With anguish. Aye; I await, till thou dost beside me be. When that wondrous time, Doth come to pass, United shall we be, forever more. Verily, I pledge to you this day, As breezes, sweet spring music doth play, Grand celebration, Yea, a feast shall be, When once again my love, Comes unto me. Too long, too long, Thy quest hath taken thee, Far away, to exotic lands across the sea. Thy messages, Delivered all too infrequently, Give reassurance of your undying love, For me. Yet; here, within my wretched heart I find, Doubts assail. Fanciful notions attack this mind of mine, Weeping, wailing, Through the darkest hours .As t’was influenced by some almighty power, Striving to rid me, F this precious gift, Of you, All the treasures, moments, That we share, undo. Beloved, from thy distance, Hear this plea. Hasten, advance with prudence back, Thence see, This piteous, sad and lonely wraith, I be. My love, come, I beg, Afore my spirit is set free. .So long it is, I pine for thy sweet touch. Thy absence leaves a void within these breasts. My knight, tis now the time, I must request, Return. Such loneliness, mine heart, I do detest. Surely it is, should true love be our lot, Thou would placate this heart that sobs, Such tragic tears. Too well it is, I am aware, Duty’s call did bidst thee leave. Hast been so many dark, and lonely years. Alas; I fear too soon, Life will retreat. Shouldst that happen, Dear Heart, When next we meet, Twill be within the heavenly home above. Yet know, Still within me, Shines this love.
