My lover, my clown.
By Grannyrosie
MY LOVER, MY CLOWN You marched in the door, Slamming it tight. I wondered, what’s with him tonight? Not normally cross, My mind at a loss. Oh well! We will see, You will share it with me. Nothing! Not a sound, no footfall, Couldn’t hear you at all. What on earth are you doing out there? Curiosity won, Went to look for you Hon, Tears of mirth erupted, You are so corrupted. When you left home this morning, As we said our goodbyes, I whispered, “bring me a pressie tonight”. At no time would I believe, What my eyes now perceive, Standing there, wrapped in cellophane so bright. Bright ribbons adorn, Every place they can tie, Laughing tears take my heart for a ride. With a love such as this, We will share only bliss, Take that wrapping down, See what is inside. My Darling, my clown, Both of us falling down, Laughter turning to soft passion cries. On the rug in the hall, Doesn’t matter at all, All I see is the love in your eyes. Written December 20th, 2001 © on Dec 20 2001 12:31 AM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 8
