My place
By Grannyrosie
MY PLACE Where soft sweet sands, fold into sea, Placid, gentle lagoon, does catch the waves, From yonder barrier of coral reef, Lightning, darting creatures of the oceans abound, Cavorting to the endless sound, Haven of solitude, Where soul and mind, Nurtured from realities cares, that bind. This sacred place, of wonders be, A place to ponder earths lament, Distant thunderous roars, Of reefs rebuffing rollers. Reflections on peaceful heaven sent sound, Softly lapping waves. Sweet breezes upon the palm leaves sing, Myriad multi-coloured birds, upon the wing, Splendid concertos add to all, As rainbows chase the ocean spray, Creatures of the rock pools, safely play. The sand, pristine, sparkling clear Shells decorating landscape, far and near, Placed, perhaps, by ocean and moon at play. Driftwood, picturesquely, along the shore does lay. In the gentle warmth of break of day, Skyline assumes semblance of a hallowed hall, Where Angels stand, trumpets aloft, Announcing the emergence of, yet another day of glory, From heaven's carpet of woollen clouds, so soft. A private place, this idyllic retreat, Contained close within this mind and heart, This healing refuge, painted just for me, Retained within my eyes eternally. I would but share this place of sanctuary, With thee, but only in these words, you see, Forever lost be I, if others intrude too far, This heaven, way beyond a distant star.
