Ocean cliffs at sunset
By Grannyrosie
OCEAN CLIFFS AT SUNSET Cliffs of brilliant burnished gold, Glowing, reflecting the dying sun. Pounding waves beat the shoreline, Retreating tide melts, as day is done. Monoliths of natures plunder, Stand as sentinels off the shore. Haven for the nesting wildlife. Brazen breakers nudge, and roar. Tracts of sand, so fine and perfect, Become the dance floor of new life. Hermit crabs march in procession, Washed up morsels, come to grief. Seagulls strut, feathers reflecting, Orange reds, from clouds on high. Shadows of the evening hesitate, Allowing Sol’s last valiant cry. He fades, beyond horizon’s blanket, Precious moments before he leaves, Radiance fills the view with glory, Sunbeams dance, cavort and weave. Colours burst from the escarpment, Brilliant butterflies in majestic flight. Ocean breeze moans softly through the heights., Farewell Sol, here comes the night.
