Shadow's imaginings
By Grannyrosie
SHADOW'S IMAGININGS Passing cloud, just overhead, Fluffy, puffy fragile things. Casting distorted shadows on the ground, Calling fertile imagination in.. Behold! A giant boat, with sails and oars, Tossed in a magical sea of green. Hoisted high into the inky heavens, By grasping hands, obscure, unseen. Thence came strange, foreign warriors, With spears and clubs brandished on high. Smiting great hoards of bestial creatures, Cavorting, snarling, threatening, close by. Majestic beasts erupted explosively, Wooly mammoth tusks gleaming white. Sabre tooth tigers, prowling, growling, Blending in to that eerie shadowy light. Trolls, fairies, goblins and elves danced about, Monstrous green dragon waved his tail aloft. From depths of hell drew forth great flame, Men cowered in fear, and nameless shame. Scene distorting as clouds pass on by. Now from these lips, a gentle sigh. Imaginings withstand the ultimate test, Create illusions bold, without request.
