Singing pen
By Grannyrosie
SINGING PEN What will your song be for today, Singing pen, held so reverently? Will words flow in majestic rhythm, Spilling, gurgling, for the entire world to see? Shall you sing songs of stately galleons, Sailing high on the Spanish Main? Crossing the ocean’s fury in defiance, Returning triumphant with spoils again? Perchance, dwell on pathway of ancient glacier, Gouging passage of eons, to the sea? Thundering roar, as it births by the shore, Myriad of rainbows in icebergs we see? A slow waltz, for those who dwell on love, Tempered to meet the depth of the soul? In rhythm with each heart taking the floor, Song of life, making lover’s bonds, whole? Sing now, of passion, consuming, divine, Soaring with eagles, far above the clouds. Roaring, engulfing, consuming fire, Lifting souls to the ultimate of desire. Rush swiftly over the paper now pen, Rejoice with the birth of each child. Sing gaily the song of creation, Jubilant, with each mother that smiled. Perhaps, a slow dirge for a country at war? Bitter tears for those maimed, or destroyed. Grief of the earth as she soaks the life blood, Prayers for those in this destruction, employed. Pen, sing to me a sacred song of peace, Invade my all with this ultimate song. Spill over; engulf the entire world with each note, Let your power bring mankind to where he does belong.
