Train to nowhere
By Grannyrosie
TRAIN TO NOWHERE On a train to nowhere, Aimless, purpose gone. Wont know where we are going, Until this journey is done. Blank spaces fill the windows, Nothing to be seen out there. Maybe sometimes blackness, Passengers don’t seem to care. Carriages full of long lost souls, Eyes vacant, no life, no hope. Some full of life’s bitter sorrow, Some glazed, abused by dope. Poor, wealthy, sick, well, fat, or thin, Seems discrimination is not about. Touches almost everyone, The evil, the meek, those with clout. Hear that ghostly whistle blowing, Thundering down the track. Wheels turning forever onward. Heart breaking clickety-clack. Tossed around, the ride is rough, Thrown about, the going is tough, Don’t need a ticket for the ride, It lives within, deep inside. No changes in the weather, Clouds always hang above, Darkness all pervading, No sunlight, no stars, no love. Just this long, hopeless, mournful ride, To nowhere, there is no going back. Notice, there are no stops, or sidings, On this long, winding, endless track. Written January 4th, 2002 © on Jan 03 2002 04:59 PM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 1
