View in a rain forest
By Grannyrosie
VIEW IN A RAIN FORREST Variegated sheets of coursing, swirling , water, Crashing over mossy boulders, within the stream. Churning, folding over into eddies, respectfully, Throwing mystical lace work, contrived, in a dream. Huge monoliths, stacked, thrown on end, Haphazardly, without obvious design, intent. Yet. Somehow, pondering natures creativity, Acknowledgement, this is exactly as t’was meant. Messy, tumbled undergrowth, in every shade of green, Tinges of buff, grey, yellow, there to see. Man ferns, imploring escape from the canopy of trees. Rainforest beauty, none greater can there be. Shafts of brilliant sunlight penetrate the giants, Bathing the scene with wondrous, celestial light. Highlighting burnished colours of leaves strewn about. Yellows, oranges, browns, fawns, reds, shimmering, and bright. Lichen and moss strike fantasy patterns all around, Carpeting banks, and tree trunks randomly. In tune with Mother Nature’s beauty and delight, Affecting all who view this scene, profoundly. Fallen Autumn leaves, floating wistfully from above, Proud vessels, bobbing, bouncing, as they dip and sway. Swirling in the current of this fresh, pure mountain creek, Journeying to destiny. Somehow, somewhere, someway. Wonder at the shimmering veils of gossamer water, Rising, striking half submerged boulders there. Tipped with foam, rearing to reach the endless sky. Ideal retreat for dreamers, to sit, ruminate, and stare. Written December 17th, 2001 © on Dec 16 2001 05:44 PM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 10
