Waiting. for what?
By Grannyrosie
WAITING. FOR WHAT? Solitude, silence, surrounding, Only the wind murmuring by. In the distance, the muffled noise of a clock. A knock! A slow relieved sigh. Rush to the door with a smile on my face. Smile fades, replaced by a lost frown. Someone seeking the address of a friend. New to this part of town. Moments plod by, stretching to hours, No reprieve for this lonely pursuit. Find a CD with our favourite tune, Tears fall to the sound of a cascading flute. Turn on the radio, no relief there. Go to the PC, pull up a chair. Can't face the thought of any but you, Go bad to solitude, feeling so blue. Lie on the bed, at the ceiling I stare, Thought harvesting at random in my mind. Drift into blackness, awake with a start, Open my eyes, such a treasure they find. Held up unavoidably, yes dear, I know. Same old excuses, disbelief doesn't show. Pride nonexistant, at least you are here, Lie by my side, whisper your lies in my ear. Written December 18th, 2001 © on Dec 17 2001 10:52 PM PST, Patricia Rosenberg 0 • 1
