The AllPoetry Cafe

It's cold outside and the winds whip my face like a torrent I'm trying to walk down the streets of life against the current I pass a store with a television in the window "War breaks out..." somewhere, I don't care to know I pass by the "Bookstore of Morgan LaFey" and step up to my old haunt, "The AllPoetry Cafe" I close the door and turn to put my coat on the rack and suddenly the warmth hits me like an attack but this warmth is soothing, like a grandmothers hug and I know that this place is filled with nothing but love I look around and look at all my friends I adore I've only know them but a week but it seems like much more Tina's sittig with Deathy by the window I see Tinas talking and Deathy's drawing her realm out beautifully I give them both a wave and walk further inside towards the table in the corner where I'm likely to hide haikumonk is at his coffee table in front of me he doesn't look up his pen is moving feverently I leave him be cuz it seems he's found some inspiration It makes me wonder if he'll ever take a vacation I hear a bit of a scuffle in the corner again I turn and see the same old group of my rowdy friends Mooseman and zeusdawg are playin a game of chess but the pieces are all adverbs and they seem to be stressed but before I can get up and try to offer some help mystysaint walks by and starts to quiet their yelps I laugh to myself as this happens every other day I hear Manicmuze laughing too, I turn to him, "hello" I say I turn back as I feel a tap on my shoulder It's Leylia saying hi, just stopping over I say hello and see out of the corner of my eye a pair of dark figures in the corner so I start to play spy killed by Jack the Ripper and Lonkert over there I turn away and leave them cuz it's rude to stare they do their own thing and people may not like it but the Cafe's a place that doesn't discriminate where you sit I look to the door and I'm happy to see a bunch of friendly faces walk in and I'm glad they know me Desdemona, Sidewinder, gecko, gozling, Rodney, Bigmamajen, PHATwriter, Dillion and treasie Suddenly I hear some dishes drop in the back Just Kevin, tryin to keep the place from going out of whack I order me a pencil, good ol' number two and a piece of blank paper...no...make it college ruled and I set them down in front and just take one look around the materials all here, in these new friends I've found;) Written March 7th, 2002 © on Mar 07 2002 09:40 AM PST   0 • 14
