Longing

By JadeG28

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Your hand brushed my cheek as you whispered loving words into my ear. Your lips were soft, hands gentle eyes sincere. I gave you my heart and my soul and you gave me all you could. In your arms I was happy, in your love I was content, in your lies I was full of ignorant bliss. As night must confront the rising sun and be exposed so was your dishonesty. The truth scorched my heart and you scurried away. Now here I sit with the memory of you. I still feel the warmth of your touch. I still taste your kiss. In spite of myself I still long for you.
