Deep within the soggy woods I see the footprints from some hooves I walk along a muddy trail I see the body first the tail But what is different about this scene I notice this is not a dream It's lying there and cannot breathe The hunter got it in the spleen It's dying slowly so hard to take But no way in hell that this is fake The anger swells beneath my heart That coward thinks that he is hard It's sport he says but that's a lie No innocent deer deserves to die Written February 5th, 2002 © on Feb 05 2002 01:14 PM PST 10 • 0
