Ode to Night

Leaves are stars in the forest night 'neath twilight blooms Black roses bright The moon adorns a violet sky 'twixt shadows dark and light's pale eye And so unfolds the grandest scheme unravels well An elusive dream The doom of night quietly sings, of heralded songs and fairy wings A fire burns The ground aglow Earth music plays My heart doth go Asleep I find myself embrace Awake to Day's Besmirching grace My heart enshrined in night's calm cry Where black roses bloom and fairies doth fly Written March 20th, 2002 © on Mar 19 2002 03:59 PM PST   0 • 10
