Corner Dweller
By Jet
He stands alone in the corner. Content to watch the world go by. Soft smiles dance upon his lips. Something flashes in his eye. From the safety of his corner, He tries to lead his life. Can't let them in, can't learn to love. He lives in constant strife. So happy in his corner Or so he makes believe. Thinks if he smiles long enough It might make them leave. Inside he cries himself to sleep. But no one sees his tears. His heart constricts with every word. But they will never know his fears. No one ever let him in. No one ever let him speak. Not a soul ever dared to love The loser or the freak. In the corner, all alone. He slowly fades away. Each day he retreats a little more, When no one comes to play.I don't know about the title. I couldn't come up with anything. Let me know what you think. Written December 12th, 2001 © on Dec 12 2001 03:03 PM PST 18 • 0 • 10
