Dark vs Light
By Jewel
He prayed that god would grant mercy on his sweet soul he could be heaven sent my friend, yet there he sits upon his fence choosing to ponder demons instead. Upon the distant rolling hills, I sit, watch and listen the darkness takes on the light, each stating their case. Alone, left there in dust, he has no choice but to surrender to a side the clouds part, first we have light: "You ask it all from me, so I speak to your heart hoping it will feel the sound: Through your madness that kept you awake at night, I was there Your coldness that stopped you from feeling; I felt for you When you prayed before me to deliver you from darkness; I placed happiness before you. I silently watched as you turned your back on my work refusing to see the beauty of the rain, through the path I let you walk. Instead you chose nights where you could seek a false redemption. I held my anger as you tore tender hearts, but could watch no more, so I found you the heart that could end your terror, but you chose to ignore. Still, in hope I allowed her to ease the confusion in your disguised chimera, then watched while you taunted it, and she alone wept. I declare now how those nights when she heard you gasping for air she ran to the churches and cried before me to let you breathe. Those days when you spilled blood red torment and then turned your back, she let it be so and in your absence remained, lovingly removing the stains. Those times you will never know, how I sacrificed her heart so you could know love but now, I have removed her armor and set her free." Upon the distant rolling hills, I sit, watch and listen the darkness takes on the light, each stating their case. Alone, left there in dust, he has no choice but to surrender to a side the clouds have gone gray; the earth opens up, now we have dark: "I sent my sweet Demons to you beckoning those familiar cries 'Accept your god-given weaknesses' I reminded you how you could lose everything, how she was strong from the pangs of her past. I helped her to endure your hurt, so you could feel free. I reminded you how love does not last forever how His guilt was salting your wounds. I gave you the desires leading to a world you alone could never find. I recall how I satisfied your inner being without her consent, I took away your guilt then, He fed all your insults. I gave you pleasure so you can forget pain; I was the voice who sought you, allowing you a flavor-some life. Remember those times when you ran from her love? I reminded you how you were never enough for her anyway, I silenced you through the past year so you could not speak of THAT day. When He told you to run, I reminded you that to leave would be the death of you, for that would mean your total abandonment... yet still, He sent her away." He sits there in total confusion, replaying the sounds of time. The cloud parts again and light sends an angelic picture, a calming peace no man can fathom. A lesson. A legend. The man seeks answers, I can no longer watch. I take my God sent freedom, leave my rolling hills and whisper softly the sound clings to the wind and floats over to the radiance there it glows and I see him catch it: 'Choose well for a life well lived.
